Willamette Valley Filbert Growers
Growers are welcome to attend a filbert pruning demonstration/workshop hosted by Crop Production Services with Lane County Extension Agent Ross Pennhallegon, on Thursday, February 2 from 9 am to 12 pm. The demonstration will take place at the Mid Valley Farms Orchard on Boston Mill Road, off Seven Mile Lane in Tangent. Ross has been instrumental in "opening up" this 30 year old orchard. Ross will cover pruning philosophies for both mature and young filberts. Please contact your CPS fieldman if you plan on attending.

The Vegetable Growers Meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 23 at the Linn County Fair and Expo Center. The program begins with a welcome from OPVC Chair Gary Hull at 8:15 a.m. and concludes at 3:45 p.m. Lunch will be served compliments of the Oregon Processed Vegetable Commission. 2.5 hours of Oregon and Washington pesticide re-certification have been applied for. Annual Meeting of the Nut Growers Society
The 97th Annual meeting of the Nut Growers Society is coming up just around the corner. The meeting is on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 starting at 8:00am and closing at 1pm. There are some good topics if you are a current grower or thinking about starting your own Filbert orchard.
This is the itenerary for the meeting.
For those who have gone before it has moved this year to Building A at the Portland Expo Center. There is free parking and also free entry to the NW Ag show.
